Whose holiday is it anyway? Psychologies columnist Mary Fenwick, goes into this reader's question:

"My problem is my son’s girlfriend, however nice I try to be to her she throws it back in my face. I took them on holiday along with my other sons and she made me cry every day, not really speaking to us. One night at the dinner she said “I will go on holiday with anyone, even if I don't like them if it means a free holiday”. I cooked her special food because she said she wanted to be gluten free, then she ate the meal with gluten in it.

If my son’s brother makes him laugh, she gives him a death stare. I’ve booked a trip and would love to be able to ask her but I am worried it will end in tears – mine!"
