"I feel like I’m on a treadmill"

Psychologies magazine agony aunt, Mary Fenwick, answers this question from a reader:

"I feel like I'm on a treadmill that is out of my control. I’ve been in my job for 14 years and am studying law part time, which I will finish next year. My job has got more stressful since I’ve been studying and after talking to my GP I’ve taken the big decision to reduce my work days from five to four. But I still feel unhappy, and under pressure from family members that I’ve reduced my income.
I think my main problem is having no time to myself – I see a dark continuous tunnel until the course finishes. I don’t enjoy my job and am glad I’m improving my job choices in the future, but I’m asking myself if it’s all worth it the way I’m feeling."
